Planning Studio:
Dudley Square

For a planning studio based in Dudley Square, a neighborhood commercial and transit hub in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, I developed a phased proposal for commercial and residential infill while preserving space for historic and future industrial uses.

Phase I emphasized revitalizing the historic commercial corridor and preserving local assets, with grants to store owners for interior renovations and streetfront improvements. Phase II focused on leveraging the area’s wealth of undeveloped city-owned lots to boost the production of affordable housing and enhancing industrial opportunities at key sites. In full build-out (Phase III), a fully-revitalized commercial corridor is anchored at either end by vibrant industrial nodes and substantial affordable housing construction supports inclusive neighborhood growth.
